Helena Talbot’s blog – How To Make Your Home Stick In A Buyer's Mind

If you're trying to sell your house, you'll probably do just about anything to get it sold and sold quickly. There are many different things you can do that could help you sell your home. But do you know the number one way to make the memory of your home stick in a buyer's mind?

The number one way to make the memory of your home stick in any buyer's mind is. . . food. Yep that's right - food. Picture your buyers traveling from home to home viewing each one in the span of a few days or a week. All of those houses just seem to start running together in their minds. So exactly what can you do to make your home stand out above a multitude of other homes?

If you serve your guests a high quality catered meal at your next open house, do you think that would stick in their minds? It sure will! Not to mention the great smell of gourmet food that will fill your home.
As your buyers are pouring over the many, many homes they've looked at trying to decide which one was which, your buyers will immediately be able to relate everything about your home. Why? Because you cared enough to feed them only the very best.

Additionally, your buyers will have spent more time in your home as they sat down and ate their gourmet meal. In addition, they can now easily picture themselves living there because they've already had their first meal in their new home. It doesn't get much more personal and memorable than that.
Using this method, almost guarantees that no buyer will forget touring your home or having it confused with another home, because they've already had their first good memory of that warm inviting feeling your home could bring them if they lived there.

If you have buyers touring your home at a time other than an open house, the same principles apply. Make sure you make some freshly baked cookies or a pie or something equally as appealing that would fill your home with an aroma that will linger in your buyers minds. You will also want to make the presentation of your baked goods top notch as well. Roll out the nice linen table cloth and tableware. Don't forget to include all of the necessary add-ons such as toppings, whipped cream, fruit, etc.
Talk to your realtor about additional ideas that will help your home stick in a buyer's mind. Food is of course the best way. However, there are many things you could do in addition to that. Your realtor will be your best resource in selling your home quickly and to helping you get top dollar offers.
